Born

Always live once a date of birth is set · Esc exit fullscreen

This free live age calculator shows how old you are right now, and it keeps counting. Enter a date of birth. If you know the time of birth, add that too; otherwise the page treats midnight as the start of that day. You do not need an account, and there is no Start button — once a birth date is set, the face is already running.

The readout lists years, months, and days, then a clock for hours, minutes, and seconds. Fullscreen enlarges the widget card, not the button, so the digits fill the screen. This is a browser clock for curiosity, not a legal or medical proof of age.

What live age measures

Live age is elapsed calendar time from birth to this moment on your device clock. It is not “how old will I be on a chosen date,” and it is not a countdown to a birthday. For a snapshot in years, months, and days as of a date you pick, use the Age Calculator. For age on a specific target date, use the Age On Date Calculator.

How to enter date of birth and optional time

Use the date field for the calendar day you were born. The time field is optional. Leave it blank if you only know the date; the calculator then starts the day at 00:00:00 in your local time zone. If the birth date is in the future, the face says so instead of inventing a negative age. Changing either field updates the live reading immediately.

Years, months, days, and the ticking clock

Whole years come first, then leftover months, then leftover days. What remains of the current day is shown as hours, minutes, and seconds, ticking like a clock. Month lengths follow the calendar (28–31 days), including leap-year February. The page uses your browser’s local time, not a server clock.

Fullscreen the widget card

Fullscreen enlarges the live-age widget card, not the Fullscreen button. In fullscreen the date picker hides so the digits can grow. You still see the birth date as context, huge years–months–days, and the ticking clock. There is no Start control because the count is already live. Exit fullscreen with the button or Esc. Layout stays on a reserved grid so digits do not jump as seconds roll.

Live age vs a snapshot age calculator

A snapshot age tool answers “how old on this as-of date?” and then sits still. This page answers “how old this second?” and keeps moving. The Date Calculator adds or subtracts whole days on the calendar. The How Long Until Calculator counts down to a future moment. The Hours Calculator reports hours between two timestamps.

Time zones, leap years, and what this is not

Age here is local-clock math in the browser. Crossing time zones, DST shifts, or a birth recorded in another zone can move the hour and minute. Leap days are handled by the calendar month length. This is not a government ID check, not a medical record, and not a certified timestamp. For session timing rather than age, use the Stopwatch or the Exam Timer.

Worked example: born 15 June 2000 at 09:30

Suppose the date of birth is 15 June 2000 and the time of birth is 09:30. On 15 June 2026 at 11:45:20 local time, the live face reads 26 years, 0 months, 0 days, and 02:15:20 on the clock — two hours, fifteen minutes, and twenty seconds past the birth time of day. A second later the seconds digit moves to 21. If you omit 09:30, the same calendar day starts at midnight, so the clock portion would be larger.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to press Start for the age to tick?

No. Once a date of birth is set, the readout is already live. There is no Start, Pause, or Reset for the age itself.

What if I only know the date, not the time of birth?

Leave the time field empty. The calculator treats the birth moment as midnight (00:00:00) on that date in your local time zone.

Does Ctrl+R reset my age?

No. This page does not steal Ctrl+R. On the exam timer and stopwatch, Ctrl+R resets those clocks. Here it keeps the browser’s usual reload. Change the date of birth field if you want a different person.

What happens in fullscreen?

The widget card goes fullscreen. Setup fields hide, the live digits enlarge, and the birth date stays as context. Esc or Exit fullscreen returns to the page.

Is this the same as the Age Calculator?

No. The Age Calculator is a snapshot for a chosen as-of date. This Live Age Calculator keeps ticking from birth to now. Both can show years, months, and days; only this page adds a live clock.

Can I use this as legal or medical proof of age?

No. It is a browser display from the date you type and your device clock. It is not an official record, ID check, or medical age assessment.
