Units

Unit Converter

Convert length, mass, temperature, area, volume, energy, and more.

Worked example

Length: 1 meter = 3.28084 feet (scale through meters as the base). Temperature is not a single factor: 0 °C = 32 °F = 273.15 K using the offset formulas in How it works.

\[ 1\,\mathrm{m}=3.28084\,\mathrm{ft};\quad 0^{\circ}\mathrm{C}=32^{\circ}\mathrm{F} \]

FAQ

Why is temperature different from length?

Length and mass conversions are proportional. Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin differ by slope and offset, so you cannot multiply by one constant the way you convert meters to feet.

Where are single-family converters?

Dedicated pages (for example area or length converters) live under the Converters hub. This tool keeps several families in one UI.
